Monkey Shoulder takes its name from an old maltman’s injury caused by manually turning malted barley — a nod to traditional whisky-making.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Sweet and inviting with notes of vanilla, orange zest, honey, and soft malt. Light toffee and gentle spice sit in the background, with no harsh alcohol presence.
Palate
Smooth and creamy. Flavours of vanilla, caramel, and ripe orchard fruits dominate, followed by gentle baking spice and malted barley. The mouthfeel is soft and rounded, making it very easy to drink.
Finish
Medium length with lingering sweetness, soft oak, and a hint of spice. Clean and approachable, with no bitterness.
